Pics and all that...

So... I've never really had much time for Flickr- but can really see the use as a work photo store. Don't have to clutter up other places with lots of images, and can access them from anywhere.

I only had a limited supply of photos to play with today, but managed to find a few from a couple of years ago. Looking out of the window at chilly Oxford, it does make me want to be somewhere else!!

Also, rather liked Picnik, as hadn't played with that before. It was nice to be able to pick bits out of the bigger photos and not end up with blurry blocky-ness. Think I might use that lots to make the holiday snaps a little better!

RSS feeds

I already use RSS feeds, as I teach the Keeping up to date WISER session, and they get covered in that. It is nice to get some personal ones in a separate account- my existing ones are all a bit general Humanities, and are mostly for demo purposes.

One of the worries with RSS is getting too much info, so I'll be interested to see whether I do read the things I've signed up to, or if it will be yet another case of "if only there were time!".

Great to be able to sign up for RSS from some of the other 23things Blogs- some really interesting stuff being discussed out there!

Tasks 1 and 2

I've had an igoogle page for ages, but have tended to use it as a hub for gmail and RSS feeds etc. I didn't really bother to customise it. Now I have, it does feel more like a personal space than an extension of a search engine, but I'm not sure it's a good idea to have Frogger so close at hand! - have added screenshot for those dying to know what my page looks like.

So here goes...

Welcome to my 23things blog. I have to confess that my big worry about starting a blog is finding the time to keep it going- but I'm sure that it'll prove addictive, as these things so often do!

With 23things, I think I'm hoping to have a go at things I know about but have never found time to really experiment with. I also hope that having a go at things together as part of this will create a great network of support for this sort of thing- I know lots of people are talking about it and showing each other how to do things already!
